Thank you for visiting my web site. My wish is for you to get to know my work by offering you the opportunity to view my designs and learn a bit about the process I use to create my fabric art.
I invite gallery owners to for information and a wholesale price list of my work. I am always open to discuss having my fabric art in your gallery.
Sewing is one of my greatest pleasures. I have been working with needles and fabric in one form or another since I was 9 years old, starting with sewing my own, and then my children’s clothes.
I began quilt making in 1976, putting my work on walls instead of beds. This allows a greater freedom in exploring ways to manipulate the fabric. Several years ago I discovered the joys of unfinished edges, and loose threads. These have become an important part of my current work.
I find myself looking at nature and man-made structures with the question: How could that be interpreted in fabric? How can I incorporate those elements of texture and design into my work?
The needle is an extension of my fingers, the threads and fabric my palette. For me, color and pattern are equally important as my finished work. Fabric art is appealing to me, and I hope to others, due to the fact that it’s more than a visual art. It is very much linked with our sense of touch and with our memories.

So here we are at the end of another year. And what a year this has been. I managed to do 10 craft festivals; traveling as far as Westport Connecticut in one direction and Buffalo NY in the other. I do love to meet all the great supporters of the arts while doing these shows and the artists I have made friends with are the best. There is a lot of prep work getting things set to go on these trips and it is pretty tiring at the end of the weekend. Still with the great help that comes my way.... I still enjoy it.
Teaching is where I find joy as well. I have taught 3rd and 5th graders in the Greene school district; seniors here in Syracuse and all other ages in between. My students tell me they have a lot of fun in my classes.... and I can only agree.... because I do too. Check out my news feed tot he right to see what is being offered this winter.
I am returning to Greene in January to work on an Art in Education project; this time with the pre-K Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders. …
