A fiber art surface design class on black fabric where you will create a "design" using several discharge methods. Fiber Artist, Sharon Bottle Souva will take you through the different methods and techniques to creating your own unique fabric. Class will be held on the front lawn of Finger Lakes Fabrics and will include lunch!

By breaking down an inspirational photo or picture to its basic design elements, you will use fused applique to create unique works of art. Quilts are made in a collage method on a quilted background. Machine quilting completes and enhances the design elements. 

For the Love of the Winter Tree - Nov 18, 2023 10:00 am

Who doesn?t love trees? They are a constant in our world, providing beauty, oxygen and shelter. In this workshop, participants will be guided as they make their own images of these magnificent plants. Winter time allows us to view the design of the bare branches. This class includes working on several types of trees seen in distant landscapes as well as one tree in the foreground. All the work is done with thread painting, fusing and free motion quilting.

  Early on I learned that I am not a rule follower nor take direction easily. Therefore teaching original design, landscape adaptations and fabric manipulation is a perfect fit. Each class is unique both to the students and to the work they produce.

I find joy and laughter in every class and in every student. My classes and workshops are an extension of the art that I create. Bringing the creative energy into the classroom with each student is what I strive for and find great pleasure.
